Uncle Galahad was P.R. Pinnock’s first attempt at musical comedy. In January 2000 he presented a recital of the songs he had written. He hoped this would lead to finding someone interested in writing the book for the show. In this it was successful, but they were unable to secure the rights for the underlying work.
The recital (recorded by Fred Armentrout) featured the following performers:
Galahad Threepwood: P.R. Pinnock*
Sandy Calendar: Allison Batty
Sam Bagshott: Brad Thomas
Veronica Wedge: Leslie Winfield
Tipton Plimsoll: Todd Foster
Dame Daphne Winkworth: Kate Melby
chorus: Batty, Winfield, & Melby
narrator: Jonathan Moliter
piano accompaniment: Tracey Edson
Here are sample songs from the recital:
* Please note that the actor engaged to play the part of Galahad Threepwood lost his voice the day of the recital and was replaced at the last minute by the composer.
